In the much anticipated Inspector General Report, it has been finally revealed that the FBI was justified in opening its investigation into ties between the Trump presidential campaign and Russia and did not act with political bias. This flies in the face of Donald Trumps claims that he was targeted by the FBI and the Obama Administration. It is in fact, that the Justice Department’s internal watchdog declared Monday December 9th 2019, that President Donald Trump’s repeated claims of being a victim of a “witch hunt” is now deemed false.
Not surprisingly, the report rejected the fantastical theories and bold criticisms spread by Donald Trump and his Republican supporters. The FBI was looking into 4 Trump advisers, 3 ended up in jail.
The Inspector General did find that there was “serious performance failures” by the FBI’s chain of command, and that fact has already been shouted and pointed out by Republican allies of the president.
But sadly for the President and his allies, that still doesn’t change the fact that the review by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz found that the FBI was completely authorized to open the investigation to protect against a potentially severe national security threat. In another hard fact to swallow for the Republicans, the information gathered by former British spy Christopher Steele, “played no role in the Crossfire Hurricane opening,” the report stated.
This is another stunning blow to the iron curtain of lies that have been propagated by the President and the once just and honorable Republican party. Lying to the public is never a good choice, but lying on such an astronomical level about things that do not need to be re-imagined is causing more damage to the trust of the American people have in their elected officials.
One can only hope that the Republican party can purge the caucus and remove the officials that are treating their position in office as a game of them against us and can get a hold of the truth, wield it like a sword of justice and come back into the fray as a law and order party that honors and follows their oath of office.
